What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?
I took a year to decide what I wanted to do and find a job. I was working at a restaurant in London while job hunting. Then I got this offer to work at EY in Georgia, so I moved back home.
Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?
I wanted to start working in consulting to have access to different projects from different industries. This would allow me to choose my career path down the line better.
What I love the most is that I work in the government and public sector and that my clients are large international organizations like the UN and the EU. I have access to interesting work that also helps local communities.
Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?
I was a member of the Theology society and the European society.
What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?
I absolutely loved the faculty. We had the most amazing lecturers. I also loved how small the course was and how close we all felt with each other.
What did you most enjoy about studying here?
The socializing side of university. The fact that it’s a campus university, it brings the students closer together.
Why did you choose to study at Exeter?
Because of the good academic reputation and its location.
What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?
My degree has provided me with the most valuable skills, which I only realized after starting working:
Analysis
Research
Argumentation
Writing
Public communication
Critical Thinking
And many more transferable skills, that I use on a daily basis.
What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?
Try to gain as much work experience as possible. Work or volunteering, where you can gain the skills I mentioned above and demonstrate them via real life experience. Try to find out what team you’re applying to and learn as much as possible about their work. This shows initiative and curiosity.
What are your plans for the future?
I’m planning a move back to London, possibly with a career change. I will probably try to gain more industry experience.
