Current Employer/Organisation Name

I am a Presenter at the Met Office.

What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

I joined the Met Office soon after leaving Exeter and undertook my operational meteorology training. I worked across lots of different industries providing weather forecasts for aviation, businesses and transport. I then trained to become a weather presenter during my time in the Media team and also spent 6 months in the Press Office learning more about the wider media. Since 2023 I have been working as a full time Presenter, creating content about weather and climate for the Met Office and other customers such as Channel 5.

Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?

I always wanted to work in communicating science and have sought ways to do that along the way. I also wanted to find a job that related to every day life. Being a weather presenter allows me to do both of those things but also challenges me intellectually and I am constantly learning.

Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?

Windriders, snow sports, NatSci

What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?

The opportunity to explore so many different subjects to help you narrow down your path of interest. I went in interested in medical sciences and left with a degree in climate science essentially.

Why did you choose to study at Exeter?

I wanted to live close to the sea and not too far from home!
