Move The Studio

What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

After graduating with a degree in Business and Management from the University of Exeter, I returned to Mumbai with a vision to merge my passion for dance with my entrepreneurial aspirations. This led to the creation of Move The Studio, a fitness and wellness space dedicated to promoting physical and mental well-being through movement. At the studio, we offer a variety of classes that cater to different forms of movement, including dance, yoga, mat pilates, and more, creating an inclusive environment where individuals of all fitness levels can come together to nurture their health and creativity. This journey has allowed me to turn my love for dance into a meaningful venture that inspires and empowers others.

Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?

After the lockdowns and the pandemic disrupted lives in India, I founded Move the Studio as a wellness space to help people reconnect with their health and community. Starting a business in the post-pandemic era came with challenges—especially convincing people to return to offline classes when many were still hesitant about in-person gatherings. Through persistence, creativity, and a focus on building trust, we overcame these hurdles and created a thriving space for movement and well-being. Over the last five years, I’ve also delved into the world of stock trading, driven by my passion for learning and strategic thinking. Balancing entrepreneurship and trading has been an incredible journey, allowing me to merge discipline, risk-taking, and innovation in both fields.

What did you most enjoy about studying here?

One of the aspects I cherished most about my time at the University of Exeter was the freedom to select my classes and tailor my course to align with my interests and career aspirations. This flexibility in the Business and Management program allowed me to explore a diverse range of subjects, but two modules stood out in particular: Finance for Managers and Digital Marketing.  Finance for Managers gave me a strong foundation in understanding financial principles, analysis, and decision-making, skills I now apply daily as the founder. Similarly, Digital Marketing introduced me to the ever-evolving world of online branding, consumer behaviour, and campaign strategies—insights that have been instrumental in growing Move The Studio. The learnings from these modules continue to shape my approach to both business and personal ventures, making my academic experience not only enjoyable but incredibly practical.
