What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

Since finishing my MBA at Exeter, I worked for the LEGO Group in the supply chain department, specifically in procurement of technology for retail; this built on my previous experience prior to Exeter. Soon after, I had the opportunity to switch to sustainability consulting due to a fellow Exeter MBA graduate of my cohort. Since then I have been working on Sustainability and Circular Economy consultant, where I’ve already had significant progression in just over 1.5 years.

Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?

I chose a career in sustainability because I believe it is purpose-driven and a pressing problem right now, intellectually challenging and with good career prospects. I decided to go into consulting because the project focused work allows me to learn from different industries and clients, which I find exciting and stimulating.

What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?

The diverse cohort and variety of lecturers. The highlights for me were the Circular Economy Masterclass and Consulting Project.

What did you enjoy most about studying here?

Exeter is a great student city, accessible and easy to explore. Also, being in the south west, close to the coast, Dartmoor and other sites was a great upside of being in Exeter

Why did you choose to study at Exeter?

The sustainability credentials of the programme, the faculty, and scholarship options.

What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?

Sustainability literacy, Consulting

What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?

Think of ways to leverage your experience and current career into the new career you envision. Be open to experimenting new paths.

What are your plans for the future?

I plan to continue growing within sustainability consulting, probably in my current company for a few years. Afterwards I will pursue starting my own consulting company focused around sustainable procurement and supply chains and compliance of sustainability regulation.
