What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?
After doing Green Consultant training and working for a local business as part of Green Consultant, I decided to work within sustainability. The green consultant training and my academic modules made me think the importance of sustainability in construction sector. Luckily, I began to work full time for a demolition contractor as sustainability manager, for a Microsoft data centre. I then joined Buro Happold as sustainability consultant and working on sustainability certifications such as BREEAM, LEED, HQM etc.
Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?
Yes, I started a case consultation group during my time at Exeter. Invited external speakers and even started a case consulting competition
What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?
I had a wide variety of subjects to learn from and my learners not limited to a particular specialty. This gave me an opportunity to apply for any relevant job
What did you most enjoy about studying here?
EVERYTHING!
Why did you choose to study at Exeter?
Because it’s a Russell group and near to the beach
What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?
From Exeter Award, Exeter Leaders Award , Green Consultant training, Case Consulting workshops and Winning the University of Exeter employment awards in the “creating impact” category – journey was very fulfilling
What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?
Start working towards your aim early enough and there are multiple options available in the university to gain UL work experience. Employer don’t want to see your academic grades, they gwt more impressed by the way you have utilized your time along with education
