Current Employer/Organisation Name

What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?
Other than brief stints as a bar supervisor, and in recruitment after graduating, I have worked for Hawk-Eye in the football department. Starting as a systems operator I moved up to a technical lead role within the first three years of my time there. Having led audio operations within the UK for a year, I am making the move to the cricket department in spring.
Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?
I heard about Hawk-Eye from a friend before I went to university and it sounded great. After failing to enjoy the 9-5 desk job I got straight out of uni, I pursued something more active in an area that interested me. I enjoy both working in a sporting environment and the people around me, as we are similarly passionate about the sport and often have more in common beyond that.
Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?
I was VP of Snow Sports Exeter in my 3rd year. I was also a part of the Squash Club, Grecian Soc. and Exeter Socialist Students
Were you part of the Exeter Student Ambassador Scheme at any point during your studies?
Yes, in first year
What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?
I loved Sport Psychology and Biomechanics, the highlight being Mark Wilson’s skill acquisition module
What did you most enjoy about studying here?
The surroundings and extra-curricular activities
Why did you choose to study at Exeter?
Reputation, distance from home and course
What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?
Soft skills for interactions with people across the board – colleagues, clients and executives
What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?
Find out if the 9-5 is something you are happy with, and if not, give Hawk-Eye a go.
What are your plans for the future?
I hope to reach management again within the cricket department over the next 18 months, and see my long-term future at Hawk-Eye
