Current Employer/Organisation Name
GB News
What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?
I studied a Masters in Broadcast Journalism at City University of London.
I then started working at GB News as work experience for a month as part of my course, before being offered a job and brought on as a producer. I began on Prime, the evening shows, and was outputting the shows within a couple of months. Then I moved to Breakfast and Mid-Morning where I am now. I’ve been producing and presenting the bulletins as a newsreader since November 2024.
Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?
I fell into journalism during my year abroad.
I love the variety that comes with it. The demands. The pace. No two days are ever the same. It’s constantly changing, evolving, and updating. Whether that’s the story or how we create the news to be broadcast back to audiences.
Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?
I was a member of Lacrosse club, Italian society and wine society.
What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?
I loved studying Italian cinema, I found that to be extremely interesting and something I’d never considered before. I ended up writing my dissertation on that. I also loved my year abroad – the opportunity was amazing.
What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?
Get involved as much as you can. Get as much experience and exposure to journalism. Whether that’s a blog you run, student paper, student radio, local radio etc. Start talking to people and network as much as you can. Your contact book is everything!
What are your plans for the future?
I’d like to continue working as a journalist but move more to on screen. Presenting the news and hopefully have my own show one day!
