What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

After graduating from my Masters in 2021, I got a job at an international development NGO called The ONE Campaign where I started off as an Advocacy and Campaigns assistant. It has now been 4 years working in government relations, engaging Parliamentarians and decision makers on international development issues like access to health, child nutrition and economic justice.

Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?

I chose this career path because I’ve always wanted my work to have an impact on the world around me. I did a law degree thinking I would fight for human rights and justice by becoming a lawyer but throughout university I discovered a way to make a difference by working in international development and in charities. The part I most enjoy about my job is all the amazing people I get to work with and meet. I’ve met Ministers and politicians and celebrities who support development work. But the most amazing people I’ve met are passionate volunteers and community health workers who carry out programmes in their communities, working for an equitable and safer world everyday.

What did you most enjoy about studying here?

I met fantastic people who I’m still good friends with today. I learnt so much about myself and how to voice my opinions about the world. Not to mention our lovely campus at Streatham and getting to explore Devon and Cornwall.

Why did you choose to study at Exeter?

Because I fell in love with our green campus and the warmth I felt when I came to visit when I was 17. I knew this was where I wanted to spend the next few years of my life and for it to be the starting block from where I went in my career.
