What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

Since founding my first business at Exeter Uni I have been devoted to startups. In 2016 I founded Chip which is now one of the fastest growing wealth management businesses in Europe. As Chief Marketing Officer I’m responsible for all marketing, branding and communications.

Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?

Every day is different. Im constantly grappling with challenges that will impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. I am passionate about helping people build wealth and steering people towards better financial outcomes.

Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?

Exeter University Rugby League club!

What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?

The relationships I created and the people I met still inspire me today.

What did you enjoy most about studying here?

As a west country lad being based in Devon was incredible and being able to escape the (beautiful) city was amazing. Beyond that the facilities on offer were always top draw.

What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?

The confidence that university gave me is probably the most powerful tool I have today. When I joined Exeter I wasn’t that confident and I feel the support I got from my friends and staff at uni was huge.

Finance in Motion. After Exeter, I completed a masters in Economics and Policy of Energy and Environment at UCL. I then worked at BNP Paribas for one year in London, on their Global Markets Graduate Scheme. After a year of that, I found a job in Frankfurt, where I finance renewable energy projects in Balkans, Caucasus, MENA and Ukraine. The fund is around EUR 1bn in size, and is a mix between a development and private finance institution.
