What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?
Since leaving Exeter, I moved to London for my Master’s. Afterwards I took some time off during the pandemic to focus on my hobbies and do self-reflection to understand what line of work I would like to pursue. Once the pandemic finished, I returned to Romania. The business I currently work for is my part-family business, so if any students are particularly interested in this path, I would happily share my experience, outlining both specific advantages and challenges.
Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy working with data and people the most! I chose this career because it combines my two passions (people and data), while also helping a mission-driven business grow.
Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?
I was on the committee for Beats and Bass Society. I also had at attempt at setting up a new society, Free the Children, along with some Exeter friends. I was also a member of the Romanian Society, Rifle Club and Surf Club.
What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?
My year of study abroad and the quality of teaching. My biggest highlight has to be the lifelong friends I made through my course and extracurricular activities at Exeter. .
What did you enjoy most about studying here?
Student life overall! Exeter is the perfect place for it.
Why did you choose to study at Exeter?
Because it allowed me to combine the two subjects I wanted to study on the Flexible Combined Honours path, it was highly ranked, the campus was full of greenery and very peaceful, and the facilities were plenty and modern!
What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?
Skills: written and verbal communication, data analysis, research skills; Experiences: meeting people from various cultures and developing a global perspective on topics.
What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?
Everything you do in class matters. Keep studying and honing your skills.
What are your plans for the future?
I would like to go into further business-related studying.
