What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

After graduation in 2014, I’ve worked as Foreign Trade Expert at two separate companies for 2 years. Then, I’ve worked at Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK) for 6 years and last year I returned to the private sector and now I’m working as Export Sales Executive.  

Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?

I like being part of international trade and promoting my country’s export. Also, in this position I can improve my language skills which includes German and Arabic other than English.

Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?

Kung-Fu Society and Turkish Society.

What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?

We were students from all around the world. I loved the campus and accommodation facilities.  

What did you most enjoy about studying here?

The campus and multicultural environment.

Why did you choose to study at Exeter?

I knew it was one of the best in social sciences.

What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?

Language, communication and academic skills. Adaptation to multicultural environment.

What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?

If they would like to stay in the UK after study, they must look for a job during their study, not afterwards like I did as a mistake 🙂

What are your plans for the future?

I’d like to work for an international company, live in as many countries as possible, promoting the international trade.
