What did you enjoy most about your degree programme?

I particularly enjoyed the amount and variety of hands-on lab experience offered.

Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?

The rock and metal society, the women’s equality panel and the student council.

What was the highlight of your time at Exeter?

I really enjoyed my dissertation research as I was able to work collaboratively in an area of biology which I found incredibly interesting.

What will you miss the most about University?

Fortunately I’ll be continuing in Exeter for the next four years, but I will miss the friendships I’ve made during my course.

What advice would you give to current and future students? (If you are an international student what would you like to tell future students from back home who might be thinking about applying to study in Exeter?)

Get involved in your course and with the students guild, it’s a really good way to develop your skills as well as find likeminded students.

What are your plans now that you have graduated?

I’m going onto a MRes-PhD studentship at the MRC CMM in Exeter, and I hope to have a career researching in medical mycology.

Being a biosciences student has allowed me to explore so many worlds. One is a world of cells, in which I was able to investigate their contents and explore how slight changes in their functions have a huge impact.
