What did you enjoy most about your degree programme?

Choosing to study at the University of Exeter was an obvious choice for me given the reputation of the LLB English Law & French Law/Master 1 (Maitrise en Droit) course, the university’s large campus with plentiful facilities and the supportive academic environment. In particular, I found the English Law and French Law program struck the perfect balance between theoretical study on the one hand and practical skills on the other, leaving me with a comprehensive understanding of how legal systems really work.

Some of the students we are profiling have been awarded a departmental prize or award in recognition of their exceptional achievements. If this applies to you, please can you tell us about this and what it means to you?

The Deans Commendation 2020/1 for exceptional performance at the University of Exeter awarded to students who achieved a stage average of 70% or over. The Franco-British Lawyers Society Prize 2022/3 for the highest overall average in the LLB English Law and French Law/ Master 1 (Maîtrise) degree programme

Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?

Exeter Law Society, Exeter International Law Society, Snowsports Society, BodySoc

What was the highlight of your time at Exeter?

One of the highlights of this program was the opportunity to study French civil law alongside English common law, two distinct and contrasting legal systems, further enriching my understanding of complex legal concepts. The total immersion in French language and French culture in the fourth year allows students to complement these two jurisdictions with EU Law, providing an alternative perspective to the international aspect of law. Besides academics, a highlight of my time at Exeter was being invited to a dinner event in the beautiful Exeter Cathedral organised by the University’s Law Society !

What will you miss the most about University?

I will miss spending time on Campus, from attending lectures to studying in the Library with friends and evenings at the Ram!

What advice would you give to current and future students? (If you are an international student what would you like to tell future students from back home who might be thinking about applying to study in Exeter?)

To any aspiring law student seeking a rewarding educational experience I wholeheartedly recommend the LLB English Law and French Law Maitrise program at the University of Exeter. I would recommend joining as many societies as possible during your first year and attending plenty of socials to meet lots of people!
