What did you enjoy most about your degree programme?
I enjoyed my whole PGCE. Even though it was a tough year, with so much to learn, the university were so supportive throughout. I felt like we could contact our tutors with any of our worries. They were all so knowledgeable and I looked forward to our sessions. The friends that I made will stay friends for life.
Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?
Swimming club. Chair of the PGCE SLSC.
What was the highlight of your time at Exeter?
Coming back for seminar days throughout our placements and having time to catch up and reflect on all of the craziness in school! It was lovely getting to hear about how we were all adapting and getting in to our role as we were getting closer to qualification!
What will you miss the most about University?
Having the support and guidance of the tutors and seeing my friends every day!
What advice would you give to current and future students? (If you are an international student what would you like to tell future students from back home who might be thinking about applying to study in Exeter?)
As soon as you mention studying your PGCE at Exeter people say something about it being a good qualification, or they have heard about it. It is definitely held in high regard. I learned so much and it gave me the perfect base to start my teaching career.
What are your plans now that you have graduated?
I am working at Lipson Vale Primary School in Plymouth. I have my own Year 1 class and I am loving having my own class!
