What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

I’ve held a host of roles and responsibilities in education. Currently, I’m an Assistant Head part time in one school and leading on EdTech and AI across our 12 school Trust. I have also, on the side, been working with Google as part of the EdLeader Fellowship and I also write and present history documentaries for HistoryHit and YouTube.

Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?

It is rewarding and gives me a sense of fulfilment.

Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?

Football, badminton, street magic (founder – doesn’t exist anymore though!), classics, and archaeology.

What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?

The community and support from lecturers and the archaeological fieldwork opportunities.

What did you most enjoy about studying here?

The community.

Why did you choose to study at Exeter?

Because it’s probably the best university in the world.

What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?

– Research and writing
– Academic seminars – learning how to respectfully disagree
– The Student Ambassador Scheme taught me loads – representation, levelled up my public speaking (I compèred a 1000+ event in the Great Hall in 2015), and work ethic.

What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?

Take every and all opportunities linked to your studies, societies and sport.

What are your plans for the future?

To keep giving to education.
