What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

A career in marketing, in different economic sectors, marketing services, retail, manufacturing, not-for-profit, focussed on advertising, survey research, product management, market distribution and logistics, overall management responsibility, in UK, Europe, USA and Canada. Now retired.

Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?

Career counselling while still a teenager. I was given the opportunity to create solutions that met the needs/wants of different groups of customers and clients.

Passionate member of EUBC (rowing team)

What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?

Learning. Highlight was studying urban geography under Ewart Johns.

What did you enjoy most about studying here?

The ability to go at my own pace.

Why did you choose to study at Exeter?

Offered the course I wanted in a desirable location with an active rowing programme.

What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?

To use an old cliché – the ability to ‘think outside of the box’.

What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?

Follow your passion.

What are your plans for the future?

Enjoy my grandchildren.
