What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

I took up a place on Deloitte’s audit and assurance graduate scheme after graduating. I have been employed by Deloitte for 1 year and am a Senior Associate.

Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?

The graduate scheme allows for you to undertake the ACA Chartered Accountancy Qualification. This is a useful three-year course which gives you a solid basis in finance. It is a platform in which you can use to find future employment in finance across the world. I enjoy most working on auditing a whole range of different clients, including some of the largest and most well known companies in the UK.

Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?

RAG, University of Exeter Karate Club, Model UN.

What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?

I enjoyed the variety of module and expertise within the university to teach fascinating topics.

What did you enjoy most about studying here?

I enjoyed the community aspect at the university and the opportunities to meet new people.

Why did you choose to study at Exeter?

It’s reputation, Russell Group membership and high ranking for my course.

What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?

Time management, communication.

What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?

You must have a willingness to persevere, working long hours and performing tasks to short deadlines. But the skills you learn in doing so and opportunities available after are large.

What are your plans for the future?

Qualify as a chartered accountant and move into another role within finance/consulting.
