What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

Since I left the University of Exeter, I managed to secure a Marketing role at the number one learning and Edutech company, Pearson. I am currently working remotely for their Oxford offices. I have been with the company for the past 7 months and have already gained various skills, from Stakeholder management to more technical Marketing skills such as SEO, PPC and Paid socials. During my role, I had the opportunity to work with colleagues all around the world and lead a variety of projects.

Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?

Marketing is truly a fulfilling and multifaced career. There is something for everyone. If you are more of a creative person, advertising, content management or social media might be perfect for you. Or maybe you enjoy data and have a more analytical mind. Marketing Analyst or Marketing research roles might be your thing. I personally love the fact that in Marketing you can never get bored. There are always new projects to work, on that might require a different skillset, and as a result, you always learn something new.

What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?

Unfortunately in my case, I have to do my masters in the middle of the pandemic, but despite that the experience was amazing. I loved the fact that we were provided with theoretical knowledge, but we also had the opportunity to apply that knowledge in real-case scenarios. Our professors were always making sure to bring guest local businesses to share with us a business challenge or maybe a business opportunity that they wanted to explore and we got the chance to work on those briefs and pitch our ideas to the companies. As a result, not only we gained valuable Marketing Knowledge, but we also got a portfolio of companies we have worked with to showcase in future interviews.
