What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

I am a freelance journalist/ foreign correspondent based in Colombia. I have also opened two hotels here in Colombia and work additionally as an academic and public speaker.

Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?

I love being my own boss and helping effect social change in Colombia.

What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?

I had an excellent teacher in Dr Hitchcock who taught us Hispano Arabic Spain and Professor Barton who taught us about Spain and the New World.

What did you enjoy most about studying here?

Campus.

Why did you choose to study at Exeter?

A nice town and campus.

What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?

Spanish.

What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?

Be resilient and flexible

What are your plans for the future?

Survive this economic collapse is the most pressing concern.
