What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

Having just graduated, I am looking forward to starting my graduate job in September.

Why did you choose this career? And what do you enjoy most about your work?

I chose this career as it is a fantastic first experience of getting in to the world of business. Working across a variety of industries, my job will be to connect industry professionals to decision-makers within multinational corporations to help sharpen their thinking and strategies.

Please tell us if you were a member of any societies, groups or sports clubs?

I have been an active member of the theatre scene at Exeter, having performed in Exeter University Shakespeare Company’s ‘Dr Faustus’ at Exeter Cathedral as well as a 2019-20 cast member of Spotlights, performing at the Lemmy and Phoenix Theatre. I have also been the Treasurer of EUTCo and ShakeCo.

What did you enjoy most about your programme and what was the biggest highlight?

I enjoyed the flexibility of my course which allowed me to take modules which stretched beyond literature including various film modules and a module on Creative Industries.

What did you enjoy most about studying here?

Working on campus and the theatre societies.

Why did you choose to study at Exeter?

I chose Exeter for its outstanding campus which I believe has been pivotal part of my university experience. Not only is it beautiful, but the facilities are also fantastic.

What skills and experiences have been most useful for your career?

Communication skills; time management; being able to form strong client relationships.

What advice would you give to a current student who wishes to pursue your career?

Research the industry as it is fairly niche and not one that everybody aware of. You should also know how this industry fits in with your long term career plans.

What are your plans for the future?

I plan to complete the graduate scheme at AlphaSights and see what opportunities arise at the end of it.
